My idea for this project is slightly personal. My dad passed away a little over a year ago very suddenly. I saved all of the voicemails that he left me and I was thinking about using one of them as the introduction to my project. I would follow that with a bunch of sounds from how everyday life is without him. I want it to be somewhat bittersweet to show both growth and grief, so maybe adding an echoing effect or something would be cool. I want it to definitely include voices and laughter because the people in my life were a huge part of helping me through my grief. I also think it would be good to include sounds from school and the climbing gym. Commitment to school and activities, especially climbing, was always very important to my dad and I would want him to know that I’m still doing that even though he’s not here anymore. Lastly my dad was a huge skier so I really want to include something that represents that. Overall, I want this piece to sort of represent that loss is really hard but you can find the people you’ve lost in everyday moments.
